Burton US Open

Every year for the past 100 years or so, Jake Burton puts together a cool little contest in Vermont… and you can smoke as much weed as you want before riding in this one. It’s the US Open of course! Unlike the prestigious “US Open” events in other sports, the snowboarding version is basically one enormous party that takes place in the birthplace of Burton Snowboards.

Kazuhiro Kokubo, the steeziest ninja on a snowboard, won the premiere event of the contest… the Men’s Halfpipe. This was long overdue. Kazu is probably the funnest halfpipe rider in the world to watch, and the fact that he can win such a huge competition without Double Corking is kind of inspiring… Kazu goes HUGE. Full results:
